Welding and Joining Technology Instructor – Hall County Campus

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Lanier Technical College is seeking a full‑time Welding and Joining Technology Instructor to teach on the Hall County campus and at the Lanier College & Career Academy in Oakwood, GA. The role involves delivering accredited welding courses, maintaining program standards, and supporting student success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for credited welding and joining technology courses.
• Evaluate student progress, maintain certification requirements, and prepare administrative reports.
• Manage supplies, equipment, budgeting, and safety compliance in the training area.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Coordinate adjunct instructors and handle scheduling and syllabus development.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in Welding and Joining Technology; credentialed for accrediting bodies.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and nights, and teach at multiple campuses.
• Associate’s degree or higher and at least 3 years of welding industry experience preferred.
• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) certification preferred.

Required skills

• Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux‑Cored Arc Welding, Oxy‑fuel Gas Welding, Plasma Arc Welding.
• Blueprint reading and welding symbol identification.
• Robotic training cell operation (Fanuc system 5) and CNC plasma table operation.
