Student Support Specialist

About the role

The Student Support Specialist provides operational assistance across programs within the Student Support Services Department, helping to improve student engagement, retention, and success at Lanier Technical College.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for service delivery, including data collection for Special Populations, Accessibility Services, and Career Services.
• Enter and code information in Banner and other data‑management systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Administer accommodated testing, manage student ID issuance, and maintain ID card equipment.
• Assist in planning and executing major events such as the Annual Career Fair and Resource Fair.
• Supervise work‑study students and provide occasional front‑desk coverage.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of related experience, including customer‑service interaction.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Banner or a comparable student information system.
• Basic Spanish language ability (preferred).

• Annual salary $41,000‑$43,000 depending on qualifications.
