Part-time Adult Education Instructional Technology Coordinator

About the role

The Adult Education Instructional Technology Coordinator supports the development and delivery of distance‑learning courses for Lanier Technical College’s Adult Education program. Working under the Dean of Adult Education, this part‑time position provides technical assistance, training, and administrative support for online instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Blackboard Ultra course content in collaboration with instructors and subject‑matter experts.
• Maintain the learning management system, manage user accounts, and ensure accurate class attendance records.
• Provide technical support through an AE Blackboard Help Desk and coordinate with state agencies such as OAE and GVTC.
• Deliver training workshops and webinars for faculty on advanced LMS features and for students on platform navigation.
• Create and update websites, databases, and standardized procedures that support the distance‑education program.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience creating and managing courses in an LMS, preferably Blackboard.
• Familiarity with adult‑education environments and ability to assist instructors, staff, and learners.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple county learning centers.

Required skills

• Blackboard Ultra (LMS) administration and content development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Data tracking and reporting within an online education context.
