Welder III (2nd shift)

About the role

The Welder III works the second shift to ensure all assemblies and parts are properly welded and ready for painting and shipping. The role supports both field and plant operations in a commercial and military environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding according to shop drawings, AWS procedures, and project specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment, electrodes, gases, and supplies.
• Document inspections, work orders, and material identification.
• Clean welds and base metal before and after welding.
• Report equipment problems promptly and halt unsafe production.
• Keep the weld‑out area organized and comply with ISO9000 policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 8 years of welding experience preferred.
• Ability to pass AWS 2G (horizontal) and 3G (vertical) tests on 1" structural steel.
• Physical capability for moderate to heavy lifting and work in outdoor/open‑shop conditions.
• Understanding of ISO9000 quality procedures and willingness to participate in continuous‑improvement activities.

Required skills

• Welding (AWS certification preferred).
• Interpretation of fabrication drawings and work orders.
• Welding equipment maintenance and supply control.
• Knowledge of ISO9000 quality standards.
