Welder II

About the role

The Welder II is responsible for welding assemblies and parts according to shop drawings and delivering them to the painting/shipping department. The role supports Vital Link Inc.'s fabrication, maintenance, and installation of jet engine test facilities and sound suppression systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding in accordance with shop drawings, AWS procedures, and project specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment, control electrodes, gas, and supplies.
• Clean welds before and after welding and ensure proper documentation of work control sheets.
• Report equipment problems to Maintenance and halt production if unsafe.
• Keep the weld-out area organized and comply with ISO9000 policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 5+ years of welding experience preferred.
• Ability to pass AWS 2G and 3G tests for structural steel.
• Physical capability for moderate to heavy lifting and work in outdoor/open‑shop environments.

Required skills

• Welding (AWS standards, 2G/3G positions).
• Operation and maintenance of welding equipment.
• Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and work travelers.
• Knowledge of steel and sheet‑metal fabrication.
