Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Project Engineer

About the role

F.H. Paschen is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Project Engineer to develop and maintain Building Information Models (BIM) across a variety of construction projects. The role supports pre‑construction, design coordination, and quality control while promoting VDC standards and innovative technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and manage BIM models according to project requirements.
• Implement BIM Execution Plans and assist with quantity take‑offs for pre‑construction services.
• Create animations and renderings for proposals using SketchUp and related tools.
• Participate in CAD standards reviews and maintain site‑condition models.
• Support the development of construction process plan documents for internal and external coordination.
• Produce and maintain architectural and structural models, leading MEP/FP coordination.
• Perform quality control on shop drawings and help resolve VDC design issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of construction or drafting experience with relevant certifications.
• At least 2 years of direct BIM coordination experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360.
• Experience using SketchUp Pro for animations and renderings.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, laser scanning, drone operation, and AR/VR technologies.
