Underwriting Specialist / Executive Underwriter – Large Property

About the role

Zurich is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for Large Property to join its National Accounts Large Property Underwriting team. The position is based in Seattle (or San Francisco) with a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week in the office/market to engage with agents, brokers, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite new and renewal commercial property business within delegated authority levels.
• Administer underwriting rules, rating manuals, and ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to support business retention and acquisition.
• Proactively identify renewal and new account opportunities and conduct detailed opportunity assessments.
• Serve as a help point for agents, brokers, and customers, supporting the organization’s sales culture.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience ranging from 3‑10 years depending on the level (Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter).
• Knowledge of commercial property lines of business, legal and regulatory guidelines, and time‑sensitive quoting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
