Undergraduate Finance Intern – Summer 2027

About the role

3M is looking for an Undergraduate Finance Intern to join its finance team for a 10‑12‑week summer assignment in 2027. The intern will work full‑time alongside experienced finance professionals, contributing to real projects that support the company’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support business finance counsel by analyzing financial data for a product line or business segment.
• Participate in internal audit teams to perform audits and process‑improvement projects.
• Assist business accounting groups in improving global financial reporting and standardisation.
• Contribute to treasury projects, evaluating investment or risk‑management strategies.
• Work as a plant analyst on projects that optimise financial processes for US plant operations.
• Apply programming and statistical modelling techniques in finance automation and analytics assignments.
• Engage in tax or corporate accounting tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a focus on finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Available to work full‑time for a 10‑12‑week period during the summer of 2027.
• Eligibility to receive up to 899 internship credit hours per service‑credit year.
• Strong analytical mindset and curiosity about business finance challenges.
• Ability to collaborate in team‑oriented projects and communicate findings effectively.
