Transportation Associate

About the role

As a Transportation Associate you will support Amazon’s transportation network by moving trailers in the yard, coordinating traffic flow, and ensuring timely arrivals and departures. The role combines hands‑on vehicle operation with safety compliance and offers the chance to work outdoors on a variety of commercial motor vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform trailer moves and yard audits to maintain zero‑defect operations.
• Coordinate yard activities, including checking in trailers and managing traffic flow.
• Complete driver training programs such as Hostler and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) school.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues, and follow DOT regulations.
• Track working hours, breaks, and schedules in compliance with Amazon policy and federal/state laws.
• Serve as a peer trainer and assist nearby sites when needed.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and adherence to company and DOT rules.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL if required by business needs.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external coordination.

Required skills

• Operation of Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) in a yard environment.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Trailer handling and yard traffic management.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance reporting.
