Superintendent – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Site Superintendent with experience in heavy civil construction, focusing on underground utilities and earthwork. The role involves leading crews, ensuring safety, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate project information promptly and accurately to relevant parties.
• Develop and execute detailed plans for earthwork and pipe installation, including mass grading, excavation, trenching, backfill, compaction, and utility installation.
• Prepare crews daily through defined planning processes and oversee a three‑week look‑ahead schedule aligned with the overall project timeline.
• Review timesheets, maintain daily activity reports, and ensure accurate labor and equipment tracking.
• Maintain equipment, protect company property, and uphold safety reporting standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Proven experience with underground utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drainage.
• Strong leadership, communication, and ability to read civil construction drawings and specifications.

Required skills

• Underground utilities installation and sequencing.
• Earthwork, grading, and trench safety.
• Civil construction drawing interpretation.
• Three‑week look‑ahead schedule development.
