About the role
The Buffalo Public Schools are seeking qualified individuals to serve as substitute teachers, providing instruction and classroom management when regular teachers are absent. This on‑site, per‑diem role supports student learning across various grade levels.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver instruction and follow the regular teacher’s lesson plans.
- Assign classwork and homework, and assess student progress.
- Maintain classroom control, discipline, and a positive learning environment.
- Complete daily reports or evaluations documenting classroom events.
- Follow oral and written directions and establish effective relationships with staff and students.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (official sealed transcripts required upon hire).
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, stooping, and attending to student behavioral needs.
Required skills
- Teaching capabilities.
- Strong classroom management skills.
What we offer
- Per‑diem daily rate of $132.08.
- Requirement to work a minimum of 20 full days per school year to retain employment.
