About the role
The Buffalo Public Schools are seeking qualified individuals to serve as substitute teachers on an on‑demand basis. In this role you will step into classrooms when regular teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of instruction and a safe learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.
- Assign and supervise classwork and homework.
- Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior.
- Complete daily reports or evaluations as required.
- Follow oral and written directions accurately.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (official sealed transcripts required upon hire).
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, stooping, and reaching.
- Willingness to work in a school/classroom environment and occasional community settings.
- Commitment to a minimum of 20 full days per school year to retain employment.
