Substitute School Administrator

About the role

The Buffalo Public School District is seeking a qualified Substitute School Administrator to provide leadership and operational oversight in the absence of the regular principal. This temporary position ensures continuity of school functions and supports student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of school operations, including day‑to‑day management, student discipline, transportation, and security.
• Support and guide teachers and staff to maintain high‑quality educational programs.
• Attend meetings, conferences, assemblies, and collaborative initiatives as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, community leaders, and educational partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or equivalent certification (SAS, SDL, or SBL) by appointment.
• Minimum five years of combined certificated teaching and supervisory experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, organizational abilities, flexibility, and a solid work ethic.
• Preferred experience as an acting, temporary, or probationary principal in an urban district.
