Strategic Review Manager - Category Analysis

About the role

The Strategic Review Manager leads high-visibility initiatives that shape the performance of the Services business, directing the line review processes that determine which install business goes to incumbent and non-incumbent Service Providers. The role leads a cross-functional team of merchants, field leadership, support partners and Service Providers from diagnosis to decision, setting direction, building the analytical basis, aligning senior stakeholders and delivering recommendations that improve program performance, customer experience and profitability. It reports to the Senior Manager, Assortment Planning.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Merchants on category review goals and objectives, and run standard and ad hoc analysis to find the key drivers of performance
• Recommend assortment decisions and develop financial plans reflecting category changes, covering trends, vendor portfolio strengths and weaknesses, line structure, store clustering, customer and store feedback, product attributes and regional performance
• Develop executive-level presentations summarizing analysis, strategic rationale and expected financial impact, and report to all levels of management
• Maintain the accuracy, thoroughness, timeliness and viability of recommendations
• Support the calendar of category reviews and own the relationships for the assigned department
• Handle strategic projects, ad hoc analysis and reporting

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Preferred: experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from planning through execution
• Preferred: proven ability to influence and align senior leaders, merchants and field leadership without direct authority
• Preferred: experience with sourcing, RFPs, bid analysis or supplier negotiations
• Preferred: strong financial acumen (P&L, margin, cost analysis) and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; SQL or BI tools a plus
• Preferred: knowledge of installation services, Service Provider management or home improvement retail
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; preferred 3 years of work experience

Working conditions

• Mostly sits in a comfortable position, with occasional need to move or lift light items
• Indoor location, with little unpleasant conditions
• Overnight travel typically less than 10% of the time
