About the role
Ideon is a fully remote company building the next generation of health‑insurance APIs. As a Staff Engineer you will lead large‑scale projects, set technical direction for our Ruby on Rails and Rust‑based services, and mentor the engineering team.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end delivery of significant projects, from design through rollout.
- Define technical strategy for the healthcare data platform, including Ruby on Rails APIs and Rust data‑processing pipelines.
- Raise engineering standards, improve processes, and ensure high code quality across the team.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
Required profile
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Deep expertise in both Ruby and Rust, including production API development and large‑scale data pipelines.
- Strong judgment for using AI‑assisted development tools while maintaining quality.
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills in a remote team environment.
