About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Spring 2027 Structural Dynamics Analyst Co‑op to support its Systems Engineering C&F team in Gloucester, MA. The co‑op will work on system design, analysis, and product development while gaining hands‑on experience in a leading semiconductor equipment company.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain testing equipment and perform annual calibration procedures.
• Write procedures or test plans for data collection as needed.
• Complete finite element analysis assignments to estimate structural and modal characteristics of engineering designs.
• Attend weekly meetings with the supervisor to report project status.
• Collaborate with system engineers on measurement and analysis for new system or sub‑system designs.
• Assist with other team projects, tasks, and engineering activities.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Interest in semiconductor processing or manufacturing (preferred).
• Quick learner with ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Finite element analysis (FEA) experience.
• Ability to write technical procedures and test plans.
• Familiarity with testing equipment calibration.
