Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market West (Pre‑Sales)

About the role

The Mid‑Market Solutions Engineer partners with Account Executives to own the technical win for enterprise customers, guiding them from discovery through solution design, demos, and rigorous validation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery to understand data architecture, marketing workflows and business objectives, then design differentiated solutions.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concept engagements and architectural designs spanning Hightouch’s suite.
• Build deep technical relationships with data engineers, architects and marketing technologists, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Navigate complex buying committees, engaging technical teams, marketing leaders and C‑suite executives.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape go‑to‑market strategy for emerging AI and agentic products.

Required profile

• 2+ years of progressive pre‑sales or solutions engineering experience in complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles.
• Proven ability to lead technical discovery, architectural white‑boarding and solution design for both technical and business audiences.
• Experience influencing buying committees across engineering, marketing and executive levels.
• Familiarity with value‑selling frameworks such as MEDDPICC or Command the Message (plus).
• Intellectual curiosity, high ambition, humility and a team‑first orientation.

Required skills

• Deep familiarity with modern data ecosystems: cloud data warehouses, data modeling, data engineering, integrations and APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with Customer Data Platforms, Marketing Automation or related technologies.
• Ability to design and execute proof‑of‑concepts and technical demos.
• Experience with AI tooling to enhance solution engineering workflow.
