Software Engineer – Missile Defense Applications

About the role

1st Edge is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain complex software applications for the Missile Defense Agency. The position is on‑site at the Redstone Arsenal facility in Huntsville, AL.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, verify, sustain and fully document software for missile‑defense data‑center applications.
• Create and maintain graphical front‑end interfaces, visualization toolsets, SQL database interfaces, multi‑user GUIs and rule‑base assessment modules.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate use‑case entities into software requirements and use agile methodology for rapid delivery.
• Migrate legacy COTS/GOTS applications to hybrid cloud services and develop cloud‑ready solutions.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• U.S. citizen with a maintainable Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.

Required skills

• SQL database integration.
• Graphical user interface (GUI) development and multi‑user interface design.
• Agile development practices, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud solution design and implementation.
