About the role
1st Edge is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions for government customers. The role is based onsite in Huntsville, AL and requires a U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead development of AI solutions using machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, model training workflows, and deployment infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities.
- Provide performance reports and briefings to government partners.
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical papers.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of relevant AI/ML experience.
- U.S. citizen able to obtain a secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience with reinforcement learning techniques.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
- Experience with Git/Gitlab version control.
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker.
- Familiarity with MLOps tools for experiment tracking and model deployment.
