Software Engineer

About the role

Allovue is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to help build and scale its education resource planning platform for K‑12 administrators. You will work on both front‑end and back‑end services, contributing to a product that directly impacts student success.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and Ember.js.
• Collaborate on data‑intensive features leveraging PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and R.
• Participate in infrastructure tasks with Docker, AWS, and Ansible.
• Explore and prototype new services in languages such as Clojure, Elixir, or Node.js.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of at least one of JavaScript, Ruby, or Clojure.
• Experience with MVC frameworks and API design.
• Ability to work collaboratively with low ego and high pride in your work.
