Software Developer II - Pathology Informatics

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Software Developer II for its Pathology Informatics team (Cpi-Diagnostics Institute) in a remote position, working 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The role supports the design, development and implementation of software applications that advance the clinic's technology and patient care initiatives, working with developers, project managers, analysts, leaders and clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Iterate with team members on analysis, design and development of software systems.
• Develop new software and proof and test it to ensure a quality product.
• Work with lead developers, engineers and senior developers to meet software development and engineering standards.
• Recommend more cost-effective products and streamlined workflows.
• Translate clinical problems into innovative healthcare solutions and observe operational and clinical workflows.
• Gather business and application requirements, keep them within project scope and document them in the documentation management system.
• Provide technical support to other developers and troubleshoot issues and fixes in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or Engineering with two years of software development experience.
• Or a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with one year of experience.
• Or, for the Digital Mobile Department, two years of iOS and/or Android development experience.
• Or, for the Cleveland Clinic Research Institute, two years in bioinformatics software development or managing and analyzing clinical and bioinformatics research data.
• Or, for ServiceNow support, two years of ServiceNow experience.
• Preferred: experience with hospital or medical systems, machine learning and AI algorithms, and healthcare experience in pathology or laboratory medicine.

Required skills

• Preferred: Python, API integration, FastAPI, JavaScript, CC3, HTML, Angular, SQL, Epic Clarity and lab medicine software.
• Preferred: ITIL Foundations certification for IT division candidates.
