Research Computing Services Manager

About the role

The Research Computing Services Manager supports biomedical research by overseeing non‑desktop computing infrastructure across Cleveland Clinic Research. The position is remote, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, with occasional on‑call duties and up to 5% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage non‑desktop research computing infrastructure, including Linux and Windows servers, storage, and databases.
• Develop standards, policies, and procedures for enterprise servers, storage, and databases.
• Support strategic planning for computing infrastructure and coordinate departmental moves.
• Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline.
• Supervise server administration, data storage, backup, and software development teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, science or related field with 10 years IT experience, or equivalent education/experience combinations.
• At least five years of managerial experience in an IT group serving scientific or corporate environments.
• Experience deploying services in cloud‑only or hybrid cloud environments.
• Ability to work remotely from Ohio, Florida or Nevada and travel as needed.
