Software Developer III – Next.js and Sanity

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Health System as a Software Developer III, working remotely to design, develop, and maintain modern web platforms using Next.js, React, and Sanity CMS. You will mentor junior developers and collaborate with clinicians, product managers, and designers to deliver high‑quality, user‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy production‑grade web applications with a focus on robustness and reusability.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, provide technical support, and guide architectural decisions.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, SEO, and caching strategies across multi‑application front‑ends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate clinical and business requirements into technical solutions.
• Maintain and evolve Sanity schemas, GROQ queries, and publishing workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least seven years of software development experience, including enterprise‑scale applications.
• Proven experience with SOA, SOAP, REST, and mobile development libraries.
• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, Git, and large monorepos.

Required skills

• Next.js and React (including server‑side rendering, routing, and performance optimization).
• Sanity CMS – schema design, GROQ, studio extensions, and publishing workflows.
• JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• CI/CD tools, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with SOAP, REST APIs, and service‑oriented architecture.
