Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Engineer - Digital Health

About the role

A U.S.-based healthcare technology company is looking for an experienced Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Engineer to define and build a new patient-facing digital health application. The role is remote and full-time, combining hands-on full stack development, software architecture, technical discovery and product thinking. The engineer works closely with stakeholders to understand product needs, define the MVP, propose technical solutions, identify risks and estimate effort, taking ownership from early-stage discovery through production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and turn product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Define the architecture and technical approach for the new patient-facing app.
• Help define the MVP, technical scope, priorities, estimates, dependencies and risks.
• Design and develop full stack functionality, and build and integrate external APIs and healthcare data services.
• Design secure solutions for sensitive patient and health information, and support wearable device and health data platform integrations.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, backend, frontend/mobile, design, QA and cloud/security teams, and contribute to the engineering team and technical roadmap.

Required profile

• Senior Full Stack Engineer, Tech Lead, Staff Engineer or similar hands-on role.
• Proven experience building and launching software products from early stages to production.
• Digital Health, HealthTech or patient-facing healthcare product experience.
• Ability to do technical discovery, define an MVP, estimate effort and identify technical risks.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to communicate with client stakeholders.

Required skills

• Full stack software development and cloud-based application architecture.
• Integrating third-party APIs and external platforms.
• Working with sensitive healthcare data and HIPAA requirements and PHI in U.S. environments.
• Nice to have: wearable integrations (Apple HealthKit, Health Connect, Fitbit, Garmin), FHIR, HL7, EHR/EMR, mobile health apps, MVP delivery and healthcare security and compliance.
