Sociology Adjunct Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through West Georgia Technical College, seeks a part‑time Sociology Adjunct Instructor to teach credit courses in a classroom, lab, or field setting. The position supports student learning and aligns with current industry trends.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, standardized syllabi, and instructional materials for Sociology courses.
• Deliver instruction in theory and practical applications of Sociology, including online or hybrid formats as needed.
• Evaluate student progress, grade assignments, and submit outcomes to the department chair.
• Maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and attend professional development training.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Sociology or a related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong computer and communication skills with ability to work with a diverse student population.

Preferred qualifications

• PhD in Sociology.
• Teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.
• Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment.
