Shipping and Receiving Clerk

About the role

Diversified Construction & Design is looking for an experienced Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage the flow of construction materials, tools, and supplies across company facilities and job sites. The role involves inspecting deliveries, coordinating with procurement and project teams, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Log incoming and outgoing freight using ERP, inventory management systems, and shipment tracking platforms; prepare bills of lading and shipping orders.
• Operate on‑ and off‑road forklifts to move materials to storerooms, laydown yards, and job sites.
• Inspect shipments for damage, verify quantities against purchase orders and invoices, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Communicate with procurement, project managers, and vendors to coordinate timely dispatch and resolve issues.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, calculate freight costs, and manage related documentation.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, organize storage areas, and track inventory discrepancies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
• Ability to read purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record and willingness to travel to job sites.
• Off‑road forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (on‑ and off‑road).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with shipment tracking platforms such as UPS/FedEx.
