Senior/Staff HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a Senior/Staff HR Business Partner to work directly with Runway’s leaders and teams, guiding growth, organization, and performance. You will advise managers and executives on people decisions, lead org design and talent programs, and translate business insights into HR priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders on org design, headcount planning, team structure and leveling.
• Coach managers and executives on performance, feedback, career development and difficult conversations.
• Own complex employee relations cases from intake through resolution, including investigations, in partnership with Legal.
• Collaborate with Compensation and Talent Acquisition on offers, promotions and market adjustments.
• Use headcount, attrition, engagement and performance data to spot risks early and recommend action.
• Design and roll out programs such as manager training and engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of HR experience, including at least four as an HR Business Partner supporting fast‑growing teams.
• Experience at a high‑growth company, ideally through rapid headcount expansion.
• Proven record of advising senior leaders and earning their trust.
• Strong employee relations experience with sound judgment and discretion.
• Working knowledge of employment law, compensation practices and performance management frameworks.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
