Senior Software Engineer, Fiat Payments & Banking Infrastructure

About the role

zero-hash is seeking a senior‑level software engineer to design and build the core of its fiat payment and banking infrastructure. You will work on high‑throughput, secure systems that connect to major banking networks and enable large‑scale financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop global fiat payment rails (ACH, RTP, FedNow, Request for Pay, SEPA) and integrate directly with top‑tier banking partners.
• Build robust treasury‑management software for automated liquidity handling and balance reconciliation across banks.
• Create internal tooling for financial operations, alerts, compliance reporting, and reconciliation.
• Develop event‑driven microservices primarily in Golang and collaborate with platform engineers to scale services.
• Respond to production incidents, ensure high availability of payment gateways, and liaise with banking partners to resolve integration issues.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Payments, FinTech, or BaaS.
• Deep knowledge of traditional fiat networks and clearing systems (ACH, RTP, FedNow, SEPA, Swift).
• Strong problem‑solving ability, comfortable with ambiguity and independent hypothesis testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Golang (production level)
• SQL and design of high‑throughput, ACID‑compliant financial ledgers
• API integration with banking systems
• Distributed systems design and messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, ZeroMQ, NATS)
