Senior Software Development Engineer (Platform)

About the role

NationsBenefits is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of a high‑performance FinTech platform. You will mentor a team of engineers, drive technical strategy, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing engineering team, fostering an Agile and DevOps culture.
• Define and execute technical strategy and architecture for scalable, secure Java‑based microservices.
• Design, develop and deploy Spring Boot microservices, ensuring fault‑tolerance and low latency.
• Architect cloud‑native solutions on AWS, Azure or GCP using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, program and business leaders to align technical roadmaps with company goals.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI DSS and other security standards.
• Design and optimise SQL/NoSQL databases and integrate real‑time data processing (Kafka, Hadoop).

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of Java development experience with Spring Boot 3.x.
• Proven leadership experience in building and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and cloud platforms.
• Experience with payment tokenisation, MDES and secure credential provisioning is a plus.
