Senior Naval Architect

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Naval Architect to lead the design and analysis of autonomous surface vessels. You will work on cutting‑edge maritime platforms that combine traditional naval architecture with advanced autonomous systems, supporting defense and commercial missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze hull forms, arrangements, structures, and mechanical systems for autonomous surface vessels (ASVs).
• Perform hydrodynamic and stability calculations, including resistance, propulsion, seakeeping, and maneuvering simulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers on CAD modeling, structural design, and weight management to optimise vessel performance.
• Integrate autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs.
• Support model testing, validation activities, and coordinate with programmers and engineers.
• Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and concept development for new vessel projects.
• Research emerging trends in naval architecture, autonomy, and defence requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and client presentation materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in ship design, stability, structures, propulsion, and hydrodynamics.
• Experience with CAD and simulation tools used in marine design.
