About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Senior Manager 2 to lead its Coastal Resources Division. This senior position supports the Director in daily operations, strategic planning, and acts as the primary liaison for budget and financial matters.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Director with day‑to‑day management of the Coastal Resources Division.
- Supervise the division’s budget, accounting, and federal aid functions.
- Serve as financial liaison with department‑level budget and accounting staff.
- Coordinate strategic planning, regulatory formulation, and high‑visibility projects.
- Act on behalf of the Director during absences.
- Oversee communications, outreach, and administrative personnel within the Director’s office.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, zoology, fisheries or wildlife management (or related field) plus four years of managerial or supervisory experience, OR two years in a lower‑level Sr. Manager 1 role.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience as a program supervisor (e.g., Marine Biologist) or as a Manager 1 in a state or federal fish and wildlife agency is a plus.
