Senior Liability Trial Attorney

About the role

Zurich Insurance is seeking a Senior Liability Trial Attorney to join its in‑house Staff Legal team. The attorney will represent commercial insureds in high‑complexity General Liability and Commercial Auto personal injury cases across central Florida.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct full-cycle insurance defense, including investigation, legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and post‑trial activities.
• Handle high‑exposure cases from inception through trial, managing hearings, negotiations, and jury trials as first chair.
• Budget case costs, calculate exposure, and provide strategic advice to clients.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor with at least 7 years of litigation experience.
• Member in good standing of the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated trial and negotiation skills, ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe.
• Experience using Lexis or Westlaw for legal research.
• Strong computer literacy for remote collaboration tools (video conferencing, task management systems).
