Senior Field Test Technician

About the role

Centurion, an Atwell company, is seeking a Senior Field Test Technician to lead testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems such as substations and datacenters. The work location will be in Arizona, Ohio or Idaho depending on your location. Technicians typically work four to five weeks on site followed by a week off.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and train entry-to-mid-level employees on testing of basic and advanced electrical devices and systems.
• Perform visual and mechanical inspections and electrical testing of standard equipment, meter calibrations, electromechanical and solid-state protective relays, power quality and load monitoring.
• Assist Project Managers with scheduling, budgeting and billing, and submit Change Order Requests for work outside the contractual scope.
• Oversee upkeep and maintenance of electrical test equipment and direct its staging for projects.
• Report test failures to the client and provide remediation, and review final test reports and project datasheets for client submittal.
• Lead morning safety meetings and contribute to job hazard analysis and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently in the field while coaching others.
• Clear, professional communication with clients and internal teams.
• NETA certification is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong documentation discipline.
