Senior Director of Product Management, Materials Discovery

About the role

SandboxAQ’s AI Simulation (AISim) division builds Large Quantitative Models that simulate molecular behavior for breakthroughs in biopharma, chemicals, advanced materials, and more. The division is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the strategy, roadmap, and commercial trajectory of ChemSim, its AI‑driven materials discovery platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end ChemSim product strategy, vision, and roadmap, covering CHIPS Act contractual deliverables and commercial expansion.
• Hire, develop, and lead a team of 3‑4 product managers across Catalysis, Batteries, Magnets, and PFAS verticals.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Core Platform to define and prioritize platform capabilities needed for both contract and market milestones.
• Define go‑to‑market, pricing, packaging, and customer segmentation for semiconductor ecosystem and adjacent verticals.
• Build and manage strategic partner relationships with fabs, equipment OEMs, chemical suppliers, and national laboratories.

Required profile

• 10+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading individual‑contributor teams.
• Deep domain expertise in materials science, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven track record shipping AI/ML‑driven scientific or engineering platforms at enterprise scale.
