Senior Android Engineer – Device Mobile Platform

About the role

As a Senior Android Engineer on the Devices mobile team, you will help shape the Android experience for millions of customers by building and enhancing the Device mobile platform. You will work in a cross‑functional agile squad, collaborating closely with product, UX and backend teams to deliver high‑quality features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship Android app features, UX flows and reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to ensure maintainable implementations.
• Maintain and improve code quality, performance and test coverage using modern Android practices.
• Work alongside other engineers to raise the overall mobile development standards.
• Integrate with backend services via REST APIs, sockets or web‑sockets.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• Professional software development experience (non‑internship) with at least one modern language such as Java, C++ or C#.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or comparable practical experience.
• Full‑lifecycle development experience including source control, CI/CD, testing and deployment.
• Experience building client‑server applications using cloud messaging APIs, REST, sockets or web‑sockets.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java (Android development).
• Android architecture components: MVVM, Coroutines, Hilt, Room.
• RESTful APIs, socket communication, web‑sockets.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated unit and integration testing.
