Senior GIS Solution Engineer - Health & Sciences

About the role

Esri is hiring a Senior GIS Solution Engineer for its Health & Sciences team, based in Vienna. The engineer acts as a highly technical advisor to customers in the sciences community, including NOAA, NASA, HHS and the Census Bureau, helping them turn complex business challenges into solutions with ArcGIS.

Key responsibilities

• Present, demonstrate and support the sale of Esri software and solutions as part of the account team, reaching technical decision-makers and leading revenue-driving technical meetings.
• Act as a technical leader of Esri technology and a subject-matter expert in spatial data science, coaching new team members on best practices.
• Proactively propose solutions that show how GIS creates business value and deliver complex strategies aligned with customers' needs.
• Design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, give configuration guidance and present at large conferences and executive engagements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with Esri technology (mapping, spatial analysis, web app configuration).
• 3+ years of experience in the sciences community.
• Demonstrated technical consulting and conceptual solution design experience.
• Understanding of sales and business development processes.
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science or a related field; visa sponsorship not available, U.S. work authorization required.

Required skills

• Broad ArcGIS knowledge from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud)
• Geodatabases and underlying DBMS, and integration with data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP and analytics platforms
• Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or AWS)
• Scripting in Python, R and JavaScript
• Troubleshooting Esri application deployment and system architecture

• Estimated base salary of $98,592-$173,576 USD.
