Schedule Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

The Schedule Engineer will support the $2.9 BN Red Line Extension (RLE) design‑build project in Chicago, developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules from pre‑construction to close‑out.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to gather requirements and constraints.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and drawings to create accurate schedules and identify critical and near‑critical path activities.
• Monitor progress, provide regular schedule updates, and conduct impact analyses for changes.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to align activities with the master schedule.
• Ensure compliance with contractual timelines and scheduling best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of heavy‑construction scheduling experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead meetings.
• Organized document management and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Experience with information‑management systems such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, ACC, or E‑Builder.
