Safety Manager

About the role

The Safety Manager will lead safety initiatives across construction projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This senior position works closely with foremen, superintendents, and project engineers to foster an injury‑free environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, safety assessments, and intervene to resolve issues, recommending and implementing modifications as needed.
• Provide training and education on safety requirements, develop and coordinate project safety programs, and manage loss‑prevention strategies.
• Lead investigations of incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and report findings to leadership.
• Identify hazards, develop mitigation plans, and ensure ongoing compliance with company safety standards.
• Communicate project status, concerns, and action plans to the leadership team and Safety Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; CHST certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience (DOE or USACE preferred) and OSHA 500/510 certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, and ability to travel 4‑5 days per week.
• Willingness to undergo pre‑employment drug screening, random testing, and background checks.

Required skills

• OSHA 500 and 510 certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED instructor qualification (or obtain within 6 months).
• Expertise in excavations, confined space entry, traffic control, respirable crystalline silica, rigging, heavy equipment operations, and fall protection.
• Proficiency in root‑cause analysis methods such as Blue Dragon, Fishbone, and 6 whys.
