Surveyor/CAD Manager

About the role

As a Surveyor/CAD Manager at C.A. Murren, you will act as a critical link between engineering, project controls, quality, field operations, and construction execution. You will provide technical leadership and ensure that plans are clear, complete, and executable before field work begins.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and revise 2D drawings and 3D civil models using AutoCAD Civil 3D, adhering to project standards and design inputs.
• Develop and maintain surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, pipe networks, grading models, and related construction exhibits for roads, drainage, utilities, and site development.
• Incorporate design revisions, RFIs, field-change documents, and verified survey information while maintaining revision traceability.
• Convert survey field data into base mapping, stakeout exhibits, cut/fill information, and record drawings.
• Support work packages and field execution with sketches, drawing extracts, dimensions, quantities, and constructability exhibits.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate, associate degree, or coursework in drafting, civil engineering technology, surveying, or related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of progressive civil CAD/drafting experience supporting heavy civil or comparable construction projects.
• Ability to interpret civil and structural drawings, specifications, survey data, and construction redlines.
• Experience working in regulated federal, energy, or industrial construction environments is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, pipe networks).
• Experience handling survey data, GNSS/RTK, total‑station files, and point clouds.
• Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, PlanSwift, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Competence with standard office and PDF‑markup tools.
