Retail Operations Manager

About the role

The New York Islanders Hockey Club is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to oversee daily and event‑day activities across its two arena retail locations and ecommerce fulfillment center. This role combines strategic P&L ownership with hands‑on leadership of store teams in a high‑energy sports and entertainment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational P&L for both retail sites, including net sales, payroll, shrink, and controllable expenses; manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Lead, coach and develop staff across two physical stores and the ecommerce fulfillment operation, handling the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to succession planning.
• Build and maintain staffing schedules that align with peak trade periods, online volume spikes and payroll targets while fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee day‑to‑day store operations, ensuring consistent visual merchandising, housekeeping standards and adherence to SOPs; act as primary escalation point for operational issues.
• Manage integration of in‑store and online processes—including pick‑in‑store, ship‑from‑store, and in‑store returns—coordinating with Buying, Marketing and IT for seamless product launches and promotions.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Proven experience leading retail teams and managing store‑level P&L.
• Demonstrated skill in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ability to develop staff, create effective schedules and maintain operational standards.
• Experience coordinating in‑store and ecommerce operations.
