Resident Engineer - Application

About the role

Bosch is seeking a passionate Application Resident Engineer to act as the primary technical liaison between Bosch and automotive OEMs. The role involves hands‑on work at customer sites, integrating cutting‑edge mobility technologies and supporting field validation of ADAS and radar solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical contact for OEMs, providing high‑level customer service and on‑site support.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, and software issues, especially those involving CAN networks.
• Conduct physical testing in labs and on test vehicles, including standing or walking for extended periods.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports for internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams to feed field insights back into product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in mobility‑based controls or systems engineering with CAN expertise.
• 1+ year experience with automotive OEM applications and processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to present to customers.

Required skills

• Control Area Network (CAN) diagnostics.
• Radar technologies (Long‑Range, Mid‑Range, Short‑Range, Corner Radar) and ADAS functions (ACC, AEB, LKA/LCA, BSD, RCTA, APA).
• MATLAB/Simulink, CANalyzer.
• Programming in C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262.
