Remote Video Editor – Media Production

About the role

A New Jersey-based commercial video production company is looking for a reliable, long-term video editor to work remotely, on an Eastern time schedule, at $1,600 per month. The editor works closely with the founder and their executive assistant on brand story videos, campaign content, testimonials and social media assets for small-to-mid-size businesses in health and wellness, construction, cannabis, fitness and other fields. The role is full-time and fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Edit testimonial videos and brand story videos (first priority)
• Edit short-form campaign videos (30-90 seconds), event recaps and behind-the-scenes, educational and personal brand content
• Create short-form content for the client's social accounts and pages
• Work from a backlog of ready-to-edit content (intro videos, Jersey Smooth, VSL) and handle ongoing client work
• Workload at full capacity is about 5 short-form videos and 1 long-form per week, fluctuating with active projects

Required profile

• Understands Western/US culture, modern aesthetics and storytelling
• Delivers without hand-holding and communicates proactively
• Able to work consistently on a part-time to full-time basis
• Comfortable receiving Loom-based briefs and written feedback, and bringing creative input
• Unpaid trial project required before hiring; late or partial delivery disqualifies candidates

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
• Basic motion graphics (titles, lower thirds, transitions)
• Color grading and audio leveling
• Short-form and long-form editing, with familiarity with US/Western aesthetic standards
• Able to emulate styles similar to Dan Martell, Alex Hormozi and Devon Levesque
