Registered Nurse – Night Shift, Medical/Surgical Unit

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on the night shift in a Medical/Surgical unit. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with facility policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in performance improvement processes and evidence‑based practice projects.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments, maintain clinical competency, and complete unit‑specific orientation.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform CPR as needed.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology use.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (state of Pennsylvania) upon hire.
