Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Night Shift)

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Room at its Norwegian location. This night‑shift position involves comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to performance improvement processes.
• Provide patient and family education, support transitions of care, and perform validated technical skills specific to the unit.
• Teach and mentor new staff and interns, delegate tasks appropriately, and assist with performance appraisals.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage patient care assignments.
• Successful completion of unit‑specific orientation and competency assessments.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
