Registered Nurse – Agency Alternative

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Agency Alternative position at its Pocono location. The role provides professional nursing care, managing patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with facility policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice, performance improvement processes and unit‑based patient experience goals.
• Teach and mentor new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill level and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to organize, prioritize assignments and maintain unit‑specific competencies.
• Successful completion of specialty orientation programs and ongoing competency maintenance.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology‑enabled care delivery.
