Product Manager – AI Safeguards & Child Safety

About the role

Anthropic is building AI assistants that are helpful, harmless, and honest. As usage expands, the Safeguards team protects users from technical, ethical, and societal risks. The Product Manager will own the ideation, design, development, and deployment of safety systems and related product experiences across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define safety‑by‑design approaches for frontier models and downstream products such as Claude.ai, API services, and cloud integrations.
• Write safety evaluations, communicate findings, and influence external safety discussions.
• Prioritize initiatives by clarifying problems, solution options, and business‑technical trade‑offs to shape MVPs and long‑term visions.
• Collaborate with policy, enforcement, research, engineering, and cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor the AI ecosystem to anticipate deployment risks and adversarial threats.
• Develop metrics to surface performance gaps and guide future project planning.
