Process Engineer Co‑op – Advanced Degree

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Engineer Co‑op to support the Advanced Project Development Department in Gloucester, MA. The role focuses on developing and optimizing semiconductor processes for next‑generation products used by leading global companies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory plating demonstrations, including tool preparation, wafer processing, measurement, and documentation.
• Lead small development projects involving wafer metrology.
• Support process engineering through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Doctorate or Master’s program in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Quick learner with interest in semiconductor processing.

Required skills

• Programming experience in C/C++, Matlab, or Python.
