Pre-Analytical Biorepository Associate

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Pre-Analytical Services Associate to support routine activities across the specimen lifecycle, from receipt and accessioning of clinical specimens through storage, inventory management and outbound shipment. Depending on the assigned work area, the day-to-day may focus on inbound pre-analytical work, biorepository storage and outbound work, or both.

Key responsibilities

• Receive consignments and shipments, open them and quality-check patient information forms, escalating incorrect, missing or damaged information to senior staff
• Check shipping materials so specimens are not left in kit packaging, and handle compounds and control material safely
• Prepare specimens for storage in cold units, enter specimen data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and maintain inventory and audit history
• Prepare outbound shipments and respond to email correspondence and LRMS ticket requests, raising IT tickets for system issues
• Upload paperwork into LIMS and archive physical paperwork monthly
• Help with equipment maintenance, supply inventory and workstation cleanup, and perform administrative duties

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent education, training and experience may be accepted
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk frequently, and work closely with eyes near a computer
• Familiarity with specimen handling, QC processes and data entry
• Strong organization, communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail and time management

The potential base pay range is $25,300 to $74,800 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and other benefits may also apply.
