Pharma In Vivo Biologist

About the role

Cogent Scientific seeks an experienced Pharma In Vivo Biologist to design and execute pre‑clinical studies, collaborate with discovery teams, and support oncology research using cutting‑edge in‑vivo models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct in vivo studies with pre‑clinical discovery and translational biology teams.
• Develop and implement novel in vivo models in collaboration with functional technology teams.
• Prepare drug solutions and perform multiple routes of administration, including subcutaneous, tail vein, intraperitoneal, retro‑orbital injection, and oral gavage.
• Implant tumor cells, measure tumor growth, and perform orthotopic implantation when required.
• Harvest blood, tumor, bone marrow, spleen and other tissues for PK/PD, toxicity, flow cytometry, and histology analyses.
• Culture tumor cells according to SOPs and contribute to SOP development.

Required profile

• BS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related field with 5 years lab experience, or MS with 2‑3 years experience.
• Extensive in vivo pharmacology expertise, preferably in oncology.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and learning agility.

Required skills

• In vivo pharmacology and tumor implantation techniques.
• IVIS imaging (preferred).
• Proficiency with GraphPad Prism (preferred).
• PK/PD and toxicity assessment.
• Flow cytometry and histology analysis.
• Cell culture and SOP development.
