Senior Histotechnologist

About the role

Cogent Scientific seeks an experienced Senior Histotechnologist to support oncology research programs in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. The role involves operating advanced histology equipment, performing IHC/IF staining, and providing expert guidance on histological techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot automated tissue processing and staining platforms.
• Apply quantitative image analysis using Visiopharm, InForm, PhenoChart, ImageJ, and QuPath.
• Perform core histology techniques for FFPE tissues, including fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning and quality control.
• Execute single‑plex and multiplex IHC and immunofluorescence staining methodologies.
• Serve as histology and IHC expert on project teams, ensuring appropriate methods, priorities and timelines.

Required profile

• BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 8+ years histology experience in a hospital or CRO laboratory (MS also considered).
• HT, HTL, ASCP certification or eligibility.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Quantitative image analysis platforms: Visiopharm, InForm, PhenoChart, ImageJ, QuPath.
• Data analysis software: GraphPad Prism, ImageJ.
• Core histology techniques for FFPE tissues and IHC/IF staining.
